About IronBrick Training


 IronBrick Training is a coaching service designed to build strength and confidence in athletes as they strive to achieve a substantial goal such as participating at the Iron-distance triathlon.

All IronBrick employees are 100% dedicated to providing all the tools a new or experienced athlete needs to achieve their individual goals. We focus on mental as well as physical preparation to prepare each client-athlete to face the variety of challenges presented to them during whatever race distance they undertake.


Company Background

IronBrick was founded by Paul Schon as a way to spread his experience to others after developing a consistent plan to train for the Iron-distance events in which he participated through the years.

Paul is a multiple IRONMAN finisher with a background of coaching athletes of various levels of expertise including collegiate level athletes. In his time as Head Coach of the Indiana University Ski Team, Paul helped guide the team from relative obscurity to a team that finished 2nd in the Central Midwest and competed in the Midwest regional Finals against such powerhouses as Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Wisconsin-Stevens Point and Michigan Tech.

Later in life Paul chose triathlon as a way to stay fit through cross training and continues to race in at least one Iron- distance event each year. His exposure to very strong athletes that failed to achieve their potential in these races was one of his driving motivations for developing IronBrick coaching.

IronBrick Coaching Staff

Paul Schon -
Paul is a 6 time Ironman finisher and Head Coach of IronBrick Training.  He is a USAT Level 1 Certified triathlon coach with experience at all distances.  He has worked with athletes of all levels to set and achieve/exceed their triathlon goals. His experience allows him to provide both workout plans and mental strategies to the time starved athlete that will maintain their life balance but get them prepared for their racing season.

Samantha Murphy  - Samantha is a two time Ironman finisher.  She has been racing triathlon for over ten years, and has experience at all levels. She has coached numerous first time triathletes, many who have gone on to finish Iron distance races. She will be focusing on creating more physical fitness opportunities for IB clients such as boot-camp and core classes in addition to writing plans and helping direct group workouts. She is proud to be part of the Ironbrick family and cannot wait to assist each athlete achieve his or her full potential.
